Another exciting game was again a derby between two teams from Doha: Qatar Sports Club (#4) and Al Ahli (#8). Al Ahli was crushed at home by 17 points 76-93 and even the advantage of their own court did not help. Qatar Sports Club forced 23 Al Ahli turnovers. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 29 assists. It was a great evening for American guard Brandan Kearney (198-92, college: Detroit Mercy) who led his team to a victory scoring 19 points and 8 assists. His fellow American import forward Nick West (208-94, college: Alabama A&M) helped adding 17 points and 11 rebounds. Four Qatar Sports Club players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was Serbian-FYR Macedonian forward Nenad Zivcevic (203-87, agency: Mansfield and Associates) with 29 points and 6 rebounds and Serbian center Nemanja Besovic (221-92) produced a double-double by scoring 20 points, 11 rebounds, 5 assists and 5 blocks. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Qatar Sports Club maintains fourth place with 8-5 record. Al Ahli at the other side keeps the eighth position with 11 games lost. Qatar Sports Club will play against Al Khor (#7) on the road in the next round. Al Ahli's supporters look forward to another derby game next round, where their team will face at home their local rival from Doha Al Shamal.
