Regular Season Round 19: Sant Josep - Roser 78-65

No shocking result in a game in Badalona where sixth ranked Sant Josep (7-5) won against 14th ranked Roser (2-11) 78-65 on Saturday. The game without a history. Sant Josep led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated down low during the game scoring 50 of its points in the paint compared to Roser's 28. They outrebounded Roser 30-12 including 20 on the defensive glass. It was a great evening for American power forward William Truss (203, college: Presbyterian) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 24 points and 14 rebounds (on 12-of-14 shooting from the field). Guard Gerard Blat (181-97) helped adding 18 points. Sant Josep's coach Sergi Vives used a ten-player rotation and allowed the starting five to rest. At the losing side point guard Xavier Assalit (187-95) responded with 15 points and 5 rebounds and point guard Aleix Pujadas (195-96) scored 15 points (made all of his seven free throws). Sant Josep moved-up to fifth place in Group C-A, which they share with Arenys. Roser at the other side, also newcomer in the league, keeps the fourteenth position with 11 games lost. Sant Josep will face higher ranked AEC Collblanc (#4) in L´Hospitalet in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Roser will play at home against Sant Adria (#7) and hope to win that game.
