Regular Season Round 19: Innova Chef - Betanzos 92-77

There was a minor upset in Zamora where 8th ranked Betanzos (8-8) was defeated by tenth ranked Innova Chef (8-8) 92-77 on Saturday. The game was mostly controlled by Innova Chef. Betanzos was better in fourth quarter 25-15. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. It was a great evening for American forward Emmanuel Johnson (198, college: Mont.St.-Billings) who led his team to a victory scoring 22 points. Point guard Pedro de-la-Calle (185-91) helped adding 17 points and 4 assists. Four Innova Chef players scored in double figures. At the losing side center Marcos Rozas (202-83) responded with a double-double by scoring 14 points and 10 rebounds and guard Guillermo Pereiro (191-89) produced a double-double by scoring 15 points and 10 rebounds. Both coaches used bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Innova Chef moved-up to sixth place in Group A-B, which they share with 4 other teams including defeated Betanzos. Innova Chef will face Culleredo (#14) at home in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Betanzos will play against the league's leader Marin (#1) and hope to win that game.
