Regular Season Round 9: Agrodalm - Universitas 96-98

The most exciting game of round 9 in the Prva Liga took place in Zagreb. This derby game ended with only two-point home defeat of 3rd placed Agrodalm (6-3) to fifth ranked Universitas (6-3) 98-96 in the game for the third place. The guests trailed by 9 points after first quarter, but they rallied back getting tie in the second period and winning the second half and won the game by 2 points. Universitas made 23-of-26 free shots (88.5 percent) during the game. They also forced 19 Agrodalm turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. The best player for the winners was center Ivan Vrgoc (201-99) who scored 12 points, 9 rebounds and 7 assists. Forward Gabriel Maric (203-99) chipped in 19 points and 6 rebounds. Universitas' coach Milan Karakas used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. At the other side the best for losing team was point guard Dorian Ribaric (180-88) who recorded 15 points, 9 rebounds and 9 assists and guard Domagoj Matic (-87) added 23 points and 6 assists respectively. Both teams had five players each who scored in double figures. Universitas moved-up to third place, which they share with Rudes and Agrodalm. Agrodalm lost third consecutive game. Universitas is looking forward to face Bulldogs (#5) in Zagreb in the next round. Agrodalm will play on the road against Sanac in Karlovac and is hoping to win this game.
