No shocking result in a game in Thessaloniki where fifth ranked PAOK (8-4) defeated bottom-ranked Panionios (1-11) 92-74 on Saturday. The hosts trailed by 9 points after first quarter, but they stormed back winning two of next three quarters and won the game by 18 points. PAOK made 20-of-22 free shots (90.9 percent) during the game. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. Worth to mention a great performance of Linos-Spyridon Chrysikopoulos (206-92) who helped to win the game recording 21 points (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field) and the former international guard Dimitris Katsivelis (196-91) who added 13 points and 6 assists during the contest. The best for the losing side was Serbian Slaven Cupkovic (205-88, agency: Octagon Europe) with 20 points and swingman Vagel Sakellariou (195-89) scored 14 points and 4 assists. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. PAOK moved-up to fourth place. Panionios lost third consecutive game. Newly promoted team stay at the bottom position with 11 games lost. PAOK will meet G.Larissa-Faros (#11) in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Panionios will play against Cretan Kings and hope to win that game.
