Regular Season Round 16: Moycullen - Tralee 73-76

The most exciting game of round 16 in the Super League took place in Galway. This derby game ended with only three-point home defeat of 8th ranked Moycullen (7-8) to second ranked Tralee (11-4) 76-73 on Saturday evening. Guest team only slightly avoided a big embarassment. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Moycullen. Worth to mention a great performance of American guard Trae Pemberton (193-92, college: Maryville, MO) who helped to win the game recording 30 points and 6 rebounds. Swingman Kieran Donaghy (198-83) contributed with 14 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners. Pemberton is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Point guard James Loughnane (175-89) replied with 19 points, 6 rebounds and 7 assists and international forward Paul Freeman (201-83) added 22 points and 10 rebounds in the effort for Moycullen. Tralee have an impressive five-game winning streak. Defending champion maintains second position with 11-4 record having just two point less than leader UCD Marian. Moycullen at the other side dropped to the seventh place with eight games lost. They share the position with Belfast Star. Tralee are looking forward to face DCU Saints (#9) in Dublin in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Moycullen will play on the road against Eanna in Dublin and is hoping to prove to their fans that this time they can win.
