Regular Season Round 14: Ascensores Tresa - Aros Patatas 55-74

Everything went according to plan in Gijon where fourth ranked Aros Patatas (10-4) outscored 11th ranked Ascensores Tresa (4-10) 74-55 on Saturday. The game without a history. Aros Patatas led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They shot 60.4 percent from the field. Aros Patatas outrebounded Ascensores Tresa 31-17 including 23 on the defensive glass. It was a great shooting night for Aros Patatas especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 55.0 percentage. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. Guard Andrea Alcantara (169-99) scored 16 points and 5 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and point guard Natalia Lopez (171-93) chipped in 16 points (on 6-of-7 shooting from the field) during the contest. Four Aros Patatas players scored in double figures. Aros Patatas' coach Isabel Fernandez used a ten-player rotation and allowed the starting five to get some rest. Argentinian Isabella Sangali responded with 21 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists and guard Jimena Abejon (168-0) scored 13 points and 4 assists. Aros Patatas moved-up to third place in Group A, which they share with GDKO Bizkaia. Ascensores Tresa lost fourth consecutive game. Newly promoted team keeps the eleventh position with ten games lost. Aros Patatas will face Segle XXI (#13) in Barcelona in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Ascensores Tresa will play on the road against Rioja in Azkoitia and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
