Regular Season Round 5: Giants - Stingers 93-90

NPBA round 5 caused change at the leadership position. Second defeat of league's leader Stingers (5-2) against leader Giants (5-0) 93-90 was the most important game of the last round. It ended at the same time the four-game winning streak of Stingers. Giants forced 19 Stingers turnovers. 32 personal fouls committed by Stingers helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. The former international guard DShon Taylor (196-93, college: Norfolk St.) orchestrated the victory by scoring 26 points and 4 assists. The former international Michael Bain (185-85) contributed with 16 points, 6 rebounds, 6 assists and 4 steals for the winners. International guard Abel Joseph (200-90) answered with a double-double by scoring 21 points, 12 rebounds and 7 assists and Salathiel Dean added 18 points, 11 rebounds and 4 assists in the effort for Stingers. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Giants have an impressive series of five victories in a row. They keep a position of league leader. Stingers at the other side dropped to the second place with two games lost. They were replaced at the leadership position by Shockers. Stingers will have a break next week, which should allow them to rest and make it back to the top of the standings. Giants will try to continue on its current victory against first ranked Shockers on the road.
