Regular Season Round 16: Le Mans - Chalons-Reims 90-84
Date: January 13, 2018
Very expected game when 13th ranked Chalons-Reims (7-9) lost on the road to third ranked Le Mans (11-5) 90-84 on Saturday. However just six-point win is not that big difference and the fans of host team counted on more convincing victory. Chalons-Reims trailed by 12 points at halftime and as many as 13 after three quarters before a 25-18 last quarter charge cut the deficit to 84-90 at the end of the game. Le Mans looked well-organized offensively handing out 26 assists. It was a very good performance for Senegalese center Youssoupha Fall (221-95) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 24 points and 14 rebounds (on 10-of-11 shooting from the field). American guard Justin Cobbs (190-91, college: California, agency: Pensack Sports) contributed with 14 points and 9 assists for the winners. Icelandic guard Martin Hermannsson (190-94, college: LIU Brooklyn) replied with 29 points and 7 assists and American LaMonte Ulmer (198-86, college: Rhode Island, agency: HMS) added 16 points and 5 rebounds in the effort for Chalons-Reims. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Le Mans have a solid three-game winning streak. They moved-up to second place. Loser Chalons-Reims dropped to the tenth position with nine games lost. Le Mans will face JDA Dijon (#11) on the road in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Chalons-Reims will play against JL Bourg and hope to win that game.
