Regular Season Round 19: Unicaja-Andalucia - Coin 74-80

We cannot really consider it an upset in the game between close teams in Malaga where 6th ranked Unicaja-Andalucia (6-6) was defeated by seventh ranked Coin (7-6) 80-74 on Saturday. Unicaja-Andalucia trailed by 13 points after 3 quarters before a 18-11 run in the last quarter cut the deficit to 74-80 at the end of the game. Coin dominated on the defensive end, holding Unicaja-Andalucia to just 3 points in second quarter. They also forced 19 Unicaja-Andalucia turnovers. It was a great evening for American center Jaylen Larry (203, college: Rochester, MI) who led his team to a victory scoring 23 points and 9 rebounds. Chema Del-Rio helped adding 15 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists. Four Coin players scored in double figures. At the losing side power forward Ignacio Rosa (206-99) responded with a double-double by scoring 21 points and 11 rebounds and Dutch center Morgan Stilma (202-0) scored 11 points and 7 rebounds. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Coin moved-up to fifth place in Group D-A, which they share with Novaschool. Loser Unicaja-Andalucia dropped to the seventh position with six games lost. Coin will face Novaschool (#6) in Malaga in the next round. Unicaja-Andalucia will play on the road against Multiopticas Baza in Alicante and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
