Regular Season Round 17: Granada - Aquimisa LZ 68-65

Sixteenth-ranked Zamorano (2-15) made lots of trouble for second ranked CB Granada (13-4) on Saturday. CB Granada managed to secure only three-point victory 68-65. However their fans expected much easier game. The hosts started the game with a very strong first quarter 22-8. But Zamorano won second period 19-12. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. The game was decided in the last minutes when CB Granada won last quarter 23-21. The best player for the winners was power forward Devin Wright (202-86) who had a double-double by scoring 11 points and 12 rebounds. Guard Manuel Rodriguez (192-91) chipped in 13 points. Four CB Granada players scored in double figures. CB Granada's coach Pablo Pin used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. Center Christopher Iza (206-95) produced a double-double by scoring 10 points and 11 rebounds and American guard Chris Hansen (193-93, college: Idaho St.) added 15 points respectively for the guests. CB Granada keeps a position of league leader, which they share with La Roda. Zamorano lost third consecutive game. They stay at the bottom place with 15 games lost. CB Granada is looking forward to face HLA Alicante (#3) at home in the next round, which may be the game of the day. Zamorano will play against Moron (#7) and is hoping to prove to their supporters that they can break losing series.
