Regular Season Round 17: Saint-Quentin - RAC Basket 81-83

The most exciting game of round 17 in the NM1 took place in Saint-Quentin. This derby game ended with only two-point home defeat of 3rd placed Saint-Quentin (12-5) to fifth ranked Rueil (12-5) 83-81 in the game for the third place. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Saint-Quentin. They outrebounded Saint-Quentin 37-25 including 23 on the defensive glass. Rueil shot the lights out from three sinking 13 long-distance shots on high 52.0 percentage. Guard Lamine Sambe (188-89) stepped up and scored 21 points for the winners and forward Karim Gourari (204-89) chipped in 9 points and 11 rebounds. Rueil have an impressive series of six victories in a row. They moved-up to third place, which they share with defeated Saint-Quentin. Rueil is looking forward to face ALS Basket (#6) in Andrezieux in the next round. Saint-Quentin will play at home against the league's leader Saint Vallier and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
