Regular Season Round 13: Nancy - Roanne 47-71

The game in Nancy supposed to be also quite interesting. Fifth ranked Chorale de Roanne (10-3) played at the court of 7th ranked Sluc Nancy (8-5). Chorale de Roanne smashed Sluc Nancy 71-47 on Saturday. The game was mostly controlled by Chorale de Roanne. Sluc Nancy managed to win second period 13-9. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They dominated on the defensive end, holding Sluc Nancy to just 5 points in fourth quarter. American-Kenyan forward Robert Nyakundi (203-89, college: SMU) stepped up and scored 19 points for the winners and American David Jackson (195-86, college: W.Illinois) chipped in 13 points and 4 assists. At the losing side American guard Dewayne Russell (180-94, college: Grand Canyon) responded with 17 points and forward Valentin Chery (200-97) scored 5 points and 5 rebounds. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Chorale de Roanne moved-up to second place, which they share with 3 other teams. Loser Sluc Nancy keeps the seventh position with five games lost. Chorale de Roanne will meet at home Quimper UJAP (#17) in the next round which should be another easy win for them. Sluc Nancy will play against STB Le Havre (#16) and hope to secure a win and be promoted back to the ProA just one year after relegation.
