Regular Season Round 17: Boulogne - CFBB 87-45

Date: January 13, 2018
Bottom-ranked CFBB (0-17) is still winless. This time they lost on the road their 17th consecutive match to twelfth ranked SO Maritime Boulogne (8-9) 87-45 on Saturday evening. SO Maritime Boulogne made 18-of-21 free shots (85.7 percent) during the game. They also forced 28 CFBB turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. The best player for the winners was American point guard Diante Watkins (174-90, college: Robert Morris) who scored 21 points, 6 assists and 5 steals. His fellow American import forward Dwight Burke (202-86, college: Marquette, agency: Octagon Europe) chipped in 16 points and 5 rebounds. Burke is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Four SO Maritime Boulogne players scored in double figures. Power forward Mathis Dossou-Yovo (202-0) produced 6 points and 12 rebounds and center Yvan Ouedraogo (201-2) added 8 points and 7 rebounds respectively for the guests. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. SO Maritime Boulogne moved-up to ninth place, which they share with Challans. CFBB lost their seventeenth game in a row. They still close the standings. SO Maritime Boulogne will meet at home SAP Vaucluse (#14) in the next round which should be theoretically another easy game. CFBB will play against Brissac-Aubance (#13) in Brissac-Quince and hopes to get finally their first victory.
