Undefeated leader Gorica delivered the ninth consecutive victory on Saturday night. This time they crushed 6th ranked Kvarner (5-4) 94-63 in Rijeka. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Kvarner. Gorica dominated down low during the game scoring 54 of its points in the paint compared to Kvarner's 32. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. Ivan Majcunic (193-96) stepped up and scored 20 points, 7 rebounds and 7 assists for the winners and swingman Ljubo Prgomet (195-84) chipped in 23 points and 5 rebounds. Five Gorica players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was swingman Ivan Kucan (192-96) with 17 points and forward David Ferencic (201-97) scored 10 points. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Gorica (9-0) have an impressive series of nine victories in a row. They maintain first place with a perfect record of 9 victories in a row. Loser Kvarner keeps the sixth position with four games lost. Gorica will meet at home Istrauni (#7) in the next round which should be theoretically another easy game. Kvarner will play against the league's second-placed Bosco in Zagreb and hope to secure a win and be promoted back to the Premijer Liga just one year after relegation.
