Regular Season Round 25: Inter Bratislava - Kosice 75-81

The most crucial game of the last round was a loss of top-ranked Inter Bratislava (21-3) at the home court on Saturday night. Hosts were defeated by third ranked Kosice (19-6) 81-75. It ended at the same time the eight-game winning streak of Inter Bratislava. It may be a crucial game in the contest for the top position in the league. Kosice made 23-of-28 free shots (82.1 percent) during the game. 28 personal fouls committed by Inter Bratislava helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. Worth to mention a great performance of Serbian power forward Svetozar Stamenkovic (206-90) who helped to win the game recording 8 points, 14 rebounds and 7 assists. Serbian guard Radenko Pilcevic (188-86) contributed with 18 points and 5 assists for the winners. Four Kosice players scored in double figures. Serbian Nemanja Barac (194-90, agency: 011 Sports) answered with 18 points and 5 rebounds and Serbian Stefan Matovic (203-91, agency: BeoExcell) added 13 points and 9 rebounds in the effort for Inter Bratislava. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Kosice moved-up to second place, which they share with Levice. Defending champion Inter Bratislava still keeps top position with three games lost. Kosice is looking forward to face Iskra Svit (#4) at home in the next round. Inter Bratislava will play against Nova Ves and is hoping to win this game.
