Regular Season Round 15: PeKa - ViVe 77-62

The game between Top Four teams took place in Kotka. Third ranked host Peli-Karhut (10-5) defeated 4th placed ViVe (9-6) 77-62. It ended at the same time the four-game winning streak of ViVe. The game without a history. Peli-Karhut led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated down low during the game scoring 52 of its points in the paint compared to ViVe's 22. Peli-Karhut forced 19 ViVe turnovers. They brought some defensive toughness making 7 blocks. It was an exceptional evening for American forward Megan Mullings (185-92, college: Alaska-Anch.) who led the winners with a double-double by scoring 23 points, 11 rebounds and 5 blocks. Her fellow American import forward Akilah Sims (178-94, college: IUPUI) accounted for 14 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists for the winning side. Four Peli-Karhut players scored in double figures. Peli-Karhut's coach Roope Makela allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. Noora Jarvikangas (184-94, college: ORU) came up with 22 points and American swingman Pachis Roberts (180-94, college: Georgia) added 12 points, 8 rebounds, 4 assists and 4 steals respectively for ViVe in the defeat. Peli-Karhut maintains third place with 10-5 record having four points less than leader Catz. ViVe at the other side keeps the fourth position with six games lost. Peli-Karhut will play against Helmi Basket (#9) in Helsinki in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. ViVe will play at home against Forssan Alku (#8) and hopes to get back on the winning track.
