Regular Season Round 14: Noorteliiga - Valga 84-108

Bottom-ranked Noorteliiga (0-9) tried to put together a comeback for its first victory of the season, but they fell short in the 108-84 loss to third ranked Valga (10-6) in Tallinn on Saturday evening. But it was rather predictable considering how strong their opponent was. The game without a history. Valga led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. Valga outrebounded Noorteliiga 46-26 including a 19-6 advantage in offensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists comparing to just 11 passes made by Noorteliiga's players. The best player for the winners was the former international center Rain Raadik (208-89) who had a double-double by scoring 13 points and 16 rebounds. Guard Egert Haller (192-95) chipped in 21 points and 5 steals. Five Valga players scored in double figures. Point guard Ron-Arnar Pehka (185-98) produced 31 points and 5 assists and guard Ran-Andre Pehka (185-1) added 19 points (was perfect 9-for-9 from the free throw line !!!) respectively for the hosts. Noorteliiga's coach Indrek Visnapuu gave up on the game allowing to play ten players seeing no chance for a win. Valga moved-up to second place, which they share with Rapla. Noorteliiga at the other side still closes the standings with nine games lost. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
