Very expected game in Andrezieux where 15th ranked Aubenas (5-12) was defeated by eighth ranked ALS Basket (9-8) 89-83 on Saturday. However just six-point win is not that big difference and the fans of host team counted on more convincing victory. ALS Basket made 20-of-25 free shots (80.0 percent) during the game. ALS Basket outrebounded Aubenas 42-25 including 16 on the offensive glass. Aubenas was plagued by 26 personal fouls down the stretch. Bosnian power forward Nemanja Kovanusic (204-93) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 14 points, 10 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners and American point guard Brandon Clark (183-93, college: Santa Clara) chipped in 12 points, 5 rebounds and 8 assists (was perfect 7-for-7 from the free throw line). Four ALS Basket players scored in double figures. American forward Justin Moss (201-93, college: Buffalo) responded with 31 points and 6 rebounds and guard Gilles Duro (190-88, agency: Octagon Europe) scored 18 points and 4 assists. Aubenas' coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. The victory was the third consecutive win for ALS Basket. They moved-up to sixth place, which they share with La Charite and Lorient. Aubenas lost their third game in a row. They dropped to the seventeenth position with 12 games lost. ALS Basket will face higher ranked Rueil (#3) at home in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Aubenas will play against GET Vosges (#15) in Golbey and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
