Regular Season Round 16: Pau-Lacq-Orthez - Cholet 70-78

Everything could happen at the game between two tied teams. Both tenth ranked Cholet Basket and 11th ranked Pau-Lacq-Orthez had identical 7-8 record. But Pau-Lacq-Orthez was not able to use a home court advantage and was defeated by the opponent from Cholet 78-70 on Saturday night. The guests took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Pau-Lacq-Orthez won third quarter 25-12. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. It was a very good performance for American Toddrick Gotcher (190-93, college: Texas Tech) who helped to win the game recording 18 points and 5 steals. The other American import forward Ryan Evans (202-90, college: Wisconsin) contributed with 8 points and 5 rebounds for the winners. The former international center Alain Koffi (207-83, agency: BeoBasket) replied with 18 points and 9 rebounds (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field) and international point guard Elie-Franck Okobo (188-97) added 10 points and 8 assists in the effort for Pau-Lacq-Orthez. Five Pau-Lacq-Orthez players scored in double figures. Cholet Basket (8-8) moved-up to seventh place, which they share with ASVEL and Gravelines. Pau-Lacq-Orthez lost third consecutive game. They dropped to the tenth position with nine games lost. Cholet Basket will face Boulazac Basket (#17) on the road in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Pau-Lacq-Orthez will play against SIG Strasbourg (#4) and hope to win that game.
