Regular Season Round 13: Hapoel Eilat - Hapoel Holon 94-79

The game between third ranked Hapoel Holon (9-4) and eighth ranked Hapoel Eilat (6-7) was the most important one in the last round on Sunday night. Hapoel Holon was defeated by Hapoel Eilat in Eilat 94-79. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Hapoel Holon. Hapoel Holon was tied after three quarters but could not keep up in the last quarter eventually losing the game. Hapoel Eilat looked well-organized offensively handing out 25 assists. American forward Demetrius Treadwell (201-91, college: Akron) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 19 points, 15 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners and the former international point guard Afik Nissim (185-81, agency: Avi Zilberman) chipped in 18 points and 10 assists. At the losing side American swingman Glen Rice-Jr (198-91, college: Georgia Tech) responded with a double-double by scoring 24 points, 11 rebounds and 5 assists and naturalized American forward Joe Alexander (203-86, college: W.Virginia) scored 15 points. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Hapoel Holon's coach Dan Shamir rotated ten players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Hapoel Eilat moved-up to sixth place, which they share with Maccabi Rishon and Maccabi Ashdod. Hapoel Holon at the other side keeps the third position with four games lost. Hapoel Eilat is looking forward to face Ironi Nahariya (#9) on the road in the next round. Hapoel Holon will play against Bnei Hasharon (#12) and is hoping to win this game.
