Regular Season Round 19: Obradoiro II - COB 58-61

Everything could happen in Santiago de Comp at the game between two tied teams. Both twelfth ranked COB and 11th ranked Obradoiro II had identical 6-9 record. But Obradoiro II was not able to use a home court advantage and was edged by the opponent from Ourense 61-58 on Sunday night. The guests took control from the first minutes by winning the initial quarter 21-15. But Obradoiro II won second period 16-15. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. It was a great evening for forward Cristian Iglesias (198-94) who led his team to a victory scoring 18 points and 5 rebounds. Point guard Deyan Colado (-96) helped adding 10 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists. At the losing side Juan Castro responded with 24 points and 5 rebounds and Rodrigo Gomez scored 6 points and 13 rebounds. Obradoiro II's coach tried various players' combinations and tested in total eleven players in this game, but that didn't help. COB have a solid series of four victories in a row. They moved-up to eleventh place in Group A-B. Newly promoted Obradoiro II dropped to the twelfth position with ten games lost. COB will face Venta de Banos (#16) at home in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Obradoiro II will play against Rosalia (#9) in Santiago de Camp. and hope to win that game.
