Regular Season Round 19: Zarautz - Ardoi 64-68

Not a big story in a game when 15th ranked Zarautz (4-12) was defeated at home by bottom-ranked Ardoi (6-10) 68-64 on Sunday. Zarautz was trailing by 3 points at halftime but managed to get 1-point lead after three quarters before a 21-16 charge of Ardoi, which allowed them to win the game. They also forced 21 Zarautz turnovers. It was a great evening for naturalized Ukrainian forward Anton Savitski (196-86) who led his team to a victory scoring 23 points and 9 rebounds. Center Andres Zabaleta (200-94) helped adding 11 points and 8 rebounds. At the losing side Estanislao Andres (185-90) responded with 14 points and 5 assists and Aitzol Eguskitza (193-90) scored 14 points and 6 rebounds. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Ardoi moved-up to tenth place in Group A-A, which they share with La Fecha. Zarautz lost sixth consecutive game. They keep the fifteenth position with 12 games lost. Ardoi will face higher ranked Cantbasket (#6) in Santander in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Zarautz will play on the road against the league's leader Estela (#1) having rather not much hope for a victory.
