Regular Season Round 17: Campli - Perugia 81-67

Very expected game when 15th ranked Perugia (4-13) was defeated on the road by second ranked Campli (11-6) 81-67 on Sunday. Campli dominated down low during the game scoring 46 of its points in the paint compared to Perugia's 24. Campli forced 19 Perugia turnovers and outrebounded them 34-20 including 23 on the defensive glass. Forward Luca Bolletta (198-91) stepped up and scored 16 points and 8 rebounds for the winners and power forward Riziero Ponziani (205-94) chipped in 18 points and 6 rebounds. Five Campli players scored in double figures. Umberto Meschini (188-94) responded with 19 points and point guard Edoardo Casuscelli (180-89) scored 14 points. Both coaches used bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Despite that victory Campli went down to third position (B) due to points difference, which they share with Lecco. Loser Perugia keeps the fifteenth place with 13 games lost. Campli will face league's leader San Severo on the road in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Perugia will play against Nardo (#12) and hope to win that game.
