Regular Season Round 17: Albacete - Cambados 72-71

Twelfth-ranked Cambados (7-10) made lots of trouble for fifth ranked Albacete (11-6). Albacete managed to secure only one-point victory 72-71. However their fans expected much easier game. Cambados was ahead by 4 points after three quarters before a 20-15 charge of Albacete, which allowed them to win the game. American center Babatunde Olumuyiwa (203-92, college: USC Upstate) nailed 16 points and 9 rebounds (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field) for the winning side and Cuban forward Georvys Elias (199-81) accounted for 13 points and 7 rebounds. Albacete's coach Alfredo Galvez allowed to play the deep bench players in such tough game. Norwegian forward Karamo Jawara (203-91, college: N.C.Central) came up with 8 points and 13 rebounds and British forward Will Saunders (201-91, college: Charleston So.) added 14 points and 8 rebounds respectively for Cambados in the defeat. Albacete moved-up to fourth place, which they share with L'Hospitalet. Cambados lost their fourth game in a row. They keep the twelfth position with ten games lost. Albacete's next round opponent will be Agustinos-Leclerc (#10) in Leon which should be theoretically an easy game. Cambados will play at home against Real Canoe and hope to win that game.
