Regular Season Round 28: CD Castro - Las Animas 99-93

The most crucial game of the last round was another loss of top-ranked Las Animas (22-7) on the court of fourth ranked CD Castro on Sunday night. Visitors were defeated by CD Castro 99-93. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 28 assists. 30 personal fouls committed by Las Animas helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. Worth to mention a great performance of American forward Rakim Brown (198-91, college: Humboldt St.) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 28 points, 17 rebounds and 7 assists. American-Puerto Rican guard Wil Martinez (188-92, college: Fairmont St.) contributed with 29 points, 7 rebounds and 8 assists for the winners. American forward Brandon Robinson (198-89, college: Clayton St.) replied with a double-double by scoring 33 points (!!!), 11 rebounds, 5 assists and 4 steals (made all of his eight free throws) and the former international point guard Franco Morales (179-92) added 14 points, 5 rebounds and 8 assists in the effort for Las Animas. Four CD Castro and five Las Animas players scored in double figures. CD Castro maintains fourth position with 11-18 record. Las Animas at the other side still keep top place with seven games lost. CD Castro are again looking forward to face league's leader Las Animas in Valdivia in the next round and it may be the game of the week. Las Animas will have a break next round.
