Regular Season Round 17: Palermo GB - Lugo 76-90

Not a big story in a game when 14th ranked Palermo GB (3-14) was defeated at home by tenth ranked Lugo (8-9) 90-76 on Sunday. Lugo looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. Point guard Matteo Seravalli (184-91) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 16 points and 14 assists for the winners and American guard Thomas Tinsley (191-96) chipped in 23 points and 5 rebounds. Four Lugo players scored in double figures. Power forward Alessandro Cecchetti (200-91) responded with a double-double by scoring 19 points and 16 rebounds and guard Michele Venturelli (190-82) scored 20 points and 5 assists. Palermo GB's coach Marco Verderosa tested ten players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Lugo moved-up to eighth place in B, which they share with Desio and Padova. Palermo GB lost their fourth game in a row. Palermo GB at the other side, also newcomer in the league, keeps the fourteenth position with 14 games lost. Lugo will face higher ranked Crema (#3) at home in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Palermo GB will play against Faenza (#6) and hope to win that game.
