Regular Season Round 21: Samaheej - Al-Nweidrat 51-76

Bottom-ranked Samaheej (0-19) tried to put together a comeback for its first victory of the season, but they fell short in the 76-51 loss to fourth ranked Al-Nweidrat (14-6) in Manama on Monday evening. They dominated down low during the game scoring 44 of its points in the paint compared to Samaheej's 22. They outrebounded Samaheej 39-21 including a 33-12 advantage in defensive rebounds. Bosnian-Serbian center Mile Ilic (215-84) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 13 points, 17 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners and Hussain Hasan chipped in 11 points. Four Al-Nweidrat players scored in double figures. Coach Dragan Vascanin's team controlled all game and the coach could let to play 10 players and allowed the starting five to rest. The best for the losing side was Hussain Busafwan with 16 points and Mujtaba Ismaeel produced a double-double by scoring 10 points and 10 rebounds. Al-Nweidrat maintains fourth place with 14-6 record. Samaheej lost their nineteenth game in a row. They still close the standings. Al-Nweidrat will meet Al-Riffa (#6) in the next round. Samaheej will play against Isa Town (#12) in Issa Town and hopes to get finally their first victory.
