The game between closely ranked teams ended with tenth ranked Whale's (11-14) road victory over 11th ranked Liaoning Hengye (9-16) 72-61. Whale forced 21 Liaoning Hengye turnovers and outrebounded them 42-30 including 18 on the offensive glass. Worth to mention a great performance of Belarusian center Yelena Levchenko (196-83, college: W.Virginia) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 24 points, 25 rebounds, 5 assists and 5 steals. Forward Xuetong Zhao (185-94) contributed with 22 points and 5 rebounds for the winners. Taiwanese forward Yu-Chun Wei (173-92) answered with 19 points and 4 assists and American power forward Elizabeth Williams (190-93, college: Duke) added 12 points, 9 rebounds and 6 blocks in the effort for Liaoning Hengye. Liaoning Hengye's coach tested ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Whale have an impressive series of five victories in a row. They moved-up to ninth place. Liaoning Hengye lost fourth consecutive game. They keep the eleventh position with 16 games lost. Whale's next round opponent will be higher ranked Xing Rui (#3) in Taiyuan and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Liaoning Hengye will play on the road against Heilongjiang (#5) in Harbin and hope to win that game.
