Everything went according to plan in Torun where fourth ranked Twarde Pierniki (13-5) outscored 15th ranked AZS Koszalin (5-14) 111-87 on Tuesday. The game was mostly controlled by Twarde Pierniki. AZS Koszalin was better in third quarter 29-23. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Twarde Pierniki made 25-of-33 free shots (75.8 percent) during the game. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 25 assists. AZS Koszalin was plagued by 28 personal fouls down the stretch. American point guard Glenn Cosey (183-92, college: E.Kentucky, agency: 3Eye) stepped up and scored 22 points, 5 rebounds and 9 assists for the winners and international Aaron Cel (203-87) chipped in 17 points and 6 rebounds. Serbian power forward Aleksandar Marelja (207-92, agency: BeoBasket) responded with 22 points and 6 rebounds (perfect from the field making all nine shots !!!) and Serbian forward Nikola Malesevic (202-89, college: Rhode Island, agency: BeoExcell) scored 16 points and 6 assists. Five Twarde Pierniki and four AZS Koszalin players scored in double figures. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Twarde Pierniki moved-up to second place. AZS Koszalin lost third consecutive game. They keep the fifteenth position with 14 games lost. Twarde Pierniki will face Miasto Szkla (#13) in Krosno in the next round which should be another easy win for them. AZS Koszalin will play at home against Wilki Morskie and hope to win that game.
