Regular Season Round 25: KTP Basket - Espoo United 90-75

We could consider it a predictable result in the game between close teams in Kotka where ninth ranked KTP-Basket (10-14) defeated 8th ranked Espoo United (10-13) 90-75. The game was mostly controlled by KTP-Basket. Espoo United was better in fourth quarter 29-18. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. KTP-Basket forced 22 Espoo United turnovers. It was a very good performance for American guard Mandell Thomas (188-93, college: Fordham) who helped to win the game recording 15 points, 8 rebounds and 5 assists. Guard Michael Pounds (189-88) contributed with 18 points and 4 assists (made all of his seven free throws) for the winners. Five KTP-Basket players scored in double figures. American power forward Jervon Pressley (203-95, college: Hampton) answered with 17 points and 7 rebounds and international forward Okko Jarvi (193-96, agency: Blacktop Management) added 15 points and 6 rebounds in the effort for Espoo United. Both coaches used bench players saving starting five for next games. KTP-Basket maintains ninth place with 10-14 record. Newly promoted Espoo United keeps the eighth position with 13 games lost. KTP-Basket will play against league's second-placed Tampereen Pyrinto on the road in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Espoo United will play against Helsinki Seagulls (#4) and hopes to get back on the winning track.
