Regular Season Round 27: Guangsha L. - Sichuan BW 124-100

CBA top team - Zhejiang Guangsha Lions (21-6) had no problems winning another game on Tuesday. This time they crushed eighteenth ranked Blue Whales (5-22) in Hangzhou 124-100. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Blue Whales. Zhejiang Guangsha Lions made 20-of-22 free shots (90.9 percent) during the game. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 27 assists comparing to just 13 passes made by Blue Whales' players. It was a quality performance for American point guard Courtney Fortson (180-88, college: Arkansas, agency: 3Eye) who led the winners with a double-double by scoring 34 points (!!!), 13 assists and 5 steals (went 8 for 8 at the free throw line). Greek center Ioannis Bourousis (214-83) accounted for 15 points and 16 rebounds for the winning side. Iranian center Hamed Haddadi (218-85) came up with a double-double by scoring 20 points, 12 rebounds and 7 assists and Nigerian-American power forward Ikechukwu Diogu (204-83, college: Arizona St.) added 21 points and 12 rebounds respectively for Blue Whales in the defeat. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Zhejiang Guangsha Lions maintains first place with 21-6 record. Loser Blue Whales keep the eighteenth position with 22 games lost. Zhejiang Guangsha Lions will meet at home Xinjiang Flying Tige (#6) in the next round which should be theoretically another easy game. Blue Whales will play against Jiangsu Dragons (#3) and hope to secure a win.
