No shocking result in a game in Muharraq where fifth ranked Al-Hala (13-6) smashed 11th ranked Hidd (2-17) 95-72 on Wednesday. Al-Hala forced 22 Hidd turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 26 assists. American-Lebanese center Loren Woods (218-78, college: Arizona) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 15 points, 12 rebounds and 4 blocks (went 7 for 7 at the free throw line) for the winners and Jordanian Ahmed Jamal (-87) chipped in 17 points and 7 assists. Five Al-Hala players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was American forward Troy Jones (201-92, college: Tex.A&M-Kingsv.) with 30 points and 8 rebounds and Hussain Lulu scored 12 points, 5 rebounds, 6 assists and 8 steals. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Al-Hala maintains fifth place with 13-6 record. Hidd lost their fourth game in a row. Newly promoted team keeps the eleventh position with 17 games lost. They share it with Isa Town. Al-Hala will meet at home league's leader Al-Manama in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Hidd will play against Al-Ittihad (#8) and hope to secure a win.
