Regular Season Round 15: PuHu Juniorit - HNMKY U23 82-132

Very expected game when 12th ranked PuHu Juniorit (1-14) was smashed by fourth ranked HNMKY U23 (11-4) in Vantaa 132-82 on Wednesday. The game without a history. HNMKY U23 led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated down low during the game scoring 90 of its points in the paint compared to PuHu Juniorit's 46. HNMKY U23 forced 28 PuHu Juniorit turnovers and outrebounded them 48-35 including 18 on the offensive glass. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 34 assists comparing to just 13 passes made by PuHu Juniorit's players. It was a good game for point guard Sakari Laakso (194-97) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 22 points, 11 rebounds and 8 assists. Guard Tuure Takala (185-93) contributed with 18 points, 6 assists and 4 steals for the winners. HNMKY U23's coach Juuso Milen felt very confident that he used 11 players and allowed the starting five to get some rest. Guled Abokar answered with 20 points and guard Mikko Visakko (187-97) added 14 points and 4 assists in the effort for PuHu Juniorit. Five HNMKY U23 and four PuHu Juniorit players scored in double figures. HNMKY U23 moved-up to third place in Division. Loser PuHu Juniorit keeps the twelfth position with 14 games lost. HNMKY U23 will face Karkkila (#5) at home in the next round. PuHu Juniorit will play against Aalto-Basket (#11) in Espoo and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
