Regular Season Round 18: Heffingen - Basket Esch 49-79

No shocking result in a game when second ranked Basket Esch (13-4) crushed on the road bottom-ranked Heffingen (2-15) 79-49 on Wednesday. They outrebounded Heffingen 40-24 including 28 on the defensive glass. American power forward Clancy Rugg (203-91, college: Vermont, agency: Court Side) notched a double-double by scoring 18 points and 10 rebounds to lead the effort and the other American import swingman Jordan Hicks (201-90, college: Loyola, IL, agency: Octagon Europe) supported him with 17 points and 6 rebounds. Four Basket Esch players scored in double figures. Coach Sylvain Lautie's team controlled all game and the coach could let to play 11 players and allowed the starting five to rest. Even a double-double of 20 points and 10 rebounds (went 10 for 10 at the free throw line !!!) by American forward Ryan Logan (201-94, college: Stonehill) did not help to save the game for Heffingen. Forward Gilles Kerschen (193-94) added 7 points. Basket Esch have a solid four-game winning streak. They maintain second position with 13-4 record behind leader Amicale, which they share with Etzella. Heffingen lost ninth consecutive game. Newly promoted team stay at the bottom place with 15 games lost. Basket Esch will meet Etzella (#3) in the next round, which may be the game of the day. Heffingen will play against Contern (#7) and hope to secure a win.
