An exciting game between Top Four teams was played in Lappeenranta. First ranked Catz Lappeenranta faced their biggest opponent Tapiolan Honka. Host Catz Lappeenranta (15-1) smashed guests from Tapiolan (13-3) 75-54. The game was mostly controlled by Catz Lappeenranta. Tapiolan Honka managed to win third quarter 15-13. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They dominated on the defensive end, holding Tapiolan Honka to just 7 points in fourth quarter. Catz Lappeenranta's coach Mika Haakana felt very confident using 11 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. The former international swingman Heta Korpivaara (185-84, college: Seton Hall) produced a double-double by scoring 13 points, 9 rebounds and 10 assists and American swingman Lele Hardy (182-88, college: Clemson) added 12 points, 11 rebounds and 4 assists respectively for lost side. Catz Lappeenranta have an impressive 15-game winning streak. They maintain first position with 15-1 record. Newly promoted Tapiolan Honka keeps the second place with three games lost. Catz Lappeenranta are looking forward to face Kouvottaret (#7) in Kouvola in the next round where they are favorite. Tapiolan Honka will play at home against ViVe (#4) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
