PLK top team - Anwil (16-3) had no problems winning another game on Thursday. This time they crushed seventeenth ranked Legia (1-18) in Warszawa 95-60. The guests trailed by 8 points after first quarter, but they stormed back and won the game by 35 points. Anwil dominated on the defensive end, holding Legia to just 5 points in third quarter. They dominated down low during the game scoring 50 of its points in the paint compared to Legia's 28. They outrebounded Legia 37-22 including a 27-16 advantage in defensive rebounds. The best player for the winners was Cape Verdean-Portuguese Ivan Almeida (198-89, college: Stonehill) who scored 20 points, 9 rebounds and 6 assists. Croatian center Josip Sobin (203-89, agency: Alti Sport) chipped in 10 points and 9 rebounds. Four Anwil players scored in double figures. American point guard Chauncey Collins (183-95, college: TCU) produced 16 points (was perfect 7-for-7 from the free throw line) and the other American import forward Hunter Mickelson (208-92, college: Kansas, agency: 3Eye) added 13 points and 5 rebounds respectively for the hosts. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Anwil have a solid series of four victories in a row.
