Second Stage Round 2: Partizan - Beroe 67-65

The most exciting game of round 2 in the WABA took place in Beograd. This derby game ended with only two-point defeat on the road of Bulgarian Beroe (2-6) to Serbian Partizan (4-4) 67-65 on Thursday evening. Partizan outrebounded Beroe 46-33 including 39 on the defensive glass. Olga Stepanovic (178-94) had a double-double by scoring 11 points and 12 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and American guard Ashley Claussen (168-94, college: S.Oregon, agency: Lebedintsev Andriy) chipped in 17 points and 6 assists during the contest. American guard Jordan Reynolds (180-95, college: Tennessee) responded with a double-double by scoring 17 points, 12 rebounds, 5 assists and 5 steals and swingman Teodora Dineva (178-96) scored 15 points. Beroe's coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Partizan are looking forward to face Buducnost in Podgorica in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Beroe will play at home against Montana 2003 (#3) and is hoping to prove to their fans that this time they can win.
