Regular Season Round 21: Tochigi Brex - Shiga L-Stars 80-79

Third-ranked Shiga L-Stars (11-19) gave a tough game to sixth ranked Tochigi Brex (15-15). Tochigi Brex managed to secure only one-point victory 80-79. However their fans expected easier game. Tochigi Brex players were unselfish on offense dishing 21 assists. American power forward Ryan Rossiter (204-89, college: Siena) nailed a double-double by scoring 10 points, 10 rebounds and 6 assists for the winning side and the former international power forward Kosuke Takeuchi (206-85) accounted for 12 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists. Four Tochigi Brex players scored in double figures. American-Israeli center DOr Fischer (211-81, college: W.Virginia) came up with a double-double by scoring 23 points, 16 rebounds and 4 assists (on 9-of-11 shooting from the field) and guard Narito Namizato (172-89) added 15 points and 8 assists respectively for Shiga L-Stars in the defeat. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Tochigi Brex have an impressive series of five victories in a row. Defending champion moved-up to second place, which they share with Toyama Grouses. Shiga L-Stars lost fifth consecutive game. They keep the third position with 19 games lost. They share it with Niigata Albirex. Tochigi Brex will play against Hokkaido L. (#5) in Saporro in the next round. Shiga L-Stars will play on the road against the league's leader Toyota Alvark in Tokyo and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
