Regular Season Round 25: Impuls BGUIR - Grodno-93 73-103

The game between Top Four teams took place in Minsk. 4th placed host Impuls BGUIR (11-10) was smashed by second ranked Grodno-93 (21-2) 103-73. The game was mostly controlled by Grodno-93. Impuls BGUIR managed to win third quarter 26-21. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Grodno-93 shot 65.0 percent from the field. They also forced 20 Impuls BGUIR turnovers and outrebounded them 42-23 including a 34-18 advantage in defensive rebounds. Grodno-93 looked well-organized offensively handing out 29 assists comparing to just 16 passes made by Impuls BGUIR's players. Ukrainian point guard Maksym Miroshnychenko (180-96) stepped up and scored 9 points and 9 assists for the winners and Ukrainian forward Ivan Kaliayev (200-87) chipped in 12 points and 6 rebounds. At the losing side Genadziy Zahar (200-92) responded with 15 points and forward Yaraslau Kurapau (203-91) scored 10 points. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Grodno-93 have an impressive series of seven victories in a row. They keep a position of league leader, which they share with Tsmoki-Minsk. Impuls BGUIR at the other side dropped to the fifth place with ten games lost. Grodno-93 will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Impuls BGUIR will play again at home against the league's second-placed Grodno-93 (#2) and is hoping to prove to their supporters that this time they can win.
