Regular Season Round 26: Kataja Basket - Salon Vilpas 87-85

The most crucial game of the last round was a loss of top-ranked Salon Vilpas (20-5) on the court of second ranked Joensuun Kataja on Friday night. Visitors were edged by Joensuun Kataja 87-85. Point guard Johnathan Jordan (178-92, college: Texas A&M-CC, agency: Slash Sports) replied with 27 points, 8 rebounds and 6 assists and forward Aaron Jones (206-93, college: Mississippi) added 13 points and 16 rebounds in the effort for Salon Vilpas. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Joensuun Kataja have a solid four-game winning streak. Defending champion maintains second position with 14-9 record having eight points less than leader Salon Vilpas, which they share with Kouvot and Helsinki Seagulls. Salon Vilpas at the other side still keeps top place with five games lost. Joensuun Kataja will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Salon Vilpas will play at home against Espoo United and is hoping to win this game.
