Regular Season Round 13: Zadar - Alkar 93-62
Date: January 19, 2018
Very predictable result when second ranked KK Zadar (11-1) smashed at home 9th ranked Alkar (4-8) 93-62. The game without a history. KK Zadar led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. KK Zadar dominated down low during the game scoring 58 of its points in the paint compared to Alkar's 32 and made 20-of-23 charity shots (87.0 percent) during the game. They outrebounded Alkar 43-27 including a 36-17 advantage in defensive rebounds. KK Zadar players were unselfish on offense dishing 26 assists. It was a very good performance for international point guard Luka Bozic (201-96, agency: XL Basketball Agency) who helped to win the game recording 21 points (made all of his nine free throws !!!). The former international point guard Jakov Vladovic (187-83) contributed with 8 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners. Four KK Zadar players scored in double figures. American point guard Dajuan Graf (183-92, college: N.C.Central) answered with 10 points and 4 assists and Bosnian swingman Jure Brajkovic (199-94, agency: SPORTlab Agency) added 8 points and 5 rebounds in the effort for Alkar. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. The victory was the eleventh consecutive win for KK Zadar. KK Zadar maintains second place with 11-1 record behind leader Cedevita. Alkar at the other side keeps the ninth position with eight games lost. KK Zadar's next round opponent will be league's leader Cedevita in Zagreb and it will be for sure the game of the week. Alkar will play on the road against Kastela (#13) in Kastela Sucurac and hope to win that game.
