Regular Season Round 28: Sichuan BW - Jiangsu D. 107-104

The most important game in the last round took place in Sichuan between third ranked Jiangsu Dragons (20-8) and eighteenth ranked Blue Whales (6-22) on Friday night. Jiangsu Dragons were edged by Blue Whales in a tough game on the road 104-107. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Jiangsu Dragons. They outrebounded Jiangsu Dragons 55-34 including a 24-11 advantage in offensive rebounds. 32 personal fouls committed by Jiangsu Dragons helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. Worth to mention a great performance of Iranian center Hamed Haddadi (218-85) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 26 points, 20 rebounds and 5 assists and Nigerian-American power forward Ikechukwu Diogu (204-83, college: Arizona St.) who added 29 points and 18 rebounds (made all of his seven free throws) during the contest. At the losing side American swingman Jabari Brown (193-92, college: Missouri) responded with 32 points and Serbian center Miroslav Raduljica (213-88) scored 22 points and 7 rebounds. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Blue Whales maintains eighteenth position with 6-22 record. Jiangsu Dragons at the other side keep the third place with eight games lost. They share the position with Guangdong ST. Blue Whales are looking forward to face higher ranked Monkey Kings (#13) in Jiangsu in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game. Jiangsu Dragons will play on the road against Xinjiang Flying Tige (#9) in Urumqi and are hoping to win this game.
