Rather expected game when 4th placed Osaka Evessa (8-22) was crushed at home by first ranked Ryukyu GK (23-7) 72-51 on Friday. Ryukyu GK outrebounded Osaka Evessa 39-27 including 25 on the defensive glass. American forward Hassan Martin (201-95, college: Rhode Island) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 22 points and 14 rebounds for the winners and international forward Ira Brown (193-82, college: Gonzaga) chipped in 19 points and 7 rebounds. The best for the losing side was American center Keith Benson (211-88, college: Oakland) with 10 points and the other American import forward David Wear (208-90, college: UCLA) scored 10 points and 5 rebounds. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. The victory was the fourth consecutive win for Ryukyu GK. They maintain first place with 23-7 record, which they share with SeaHorses. Osaka Evessa lost their third game in a row. They keep the fourth position with 22 games lost. Ryukyu GK will face Nishinomiya S. (#5) in Hyogo in the next round. Osaka Evessa will play on the road against Shimane Magic and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
