Regular Season Round 15: Le Havre - Rouen 86-85

A very interesting game took place in Le Havre. It ended with only one-point defeat on the road of higher ranked SPO Rouen (8-7) to sixteenth ranked STB Le Havre (3-11) 86-85 on Friday evening. It was quite big embarassment for the guest team. It was a great shooting night for STB Le Havre especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 55.0 percentage. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 21 assists. It was a good game for American Ronald Lewis (193-84, college: Ohio St., agency: Pensack Sports) who saved his team from a defeat with 17 points and 6 assists. Naturalized Algerian point guard Samir Mekdad (191-86) contributed with 9 points, 6 rebounds and 7 assists for the winners. American Amin Stevens (203-90, college: Florida A&M) answered with 21 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists and Nigerian-British guard Obi Emegano (190-93, college: ORU) added 21 points in the effort for SPO Rouen. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. STB Le Havre maintains sixteenth place with 3-11 record. SPO Rouen at the other side keeps the eighth position with seven games lost. STB Le Havre's next round opponent will be higher ranked Saint Chamond (#7) at home and it will be quite challenging to get another victory.
