Regular Season Round 22: Hidd - Al-Ittihad 63-89

Rather expected game when 11th ranked Hidd (2-18) was smashed at home by eighth ranked Al-Ittihad (12-9) 89-63 on Saturday. Al-Ittihad forced 27 Hidd turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. Ali Ghadeer notched 24 points, 9 rebounds, 5 assists and 4 steals to lead the effort and American forward Antwan Wilkerson (201-91, college: Johnson C. Smith) supported him with 26 points and 10 rebounds. Four Al-Ittihad players scored in double figures. Even a double-double of 41 points (!!!) and 17 rebounds by American forward Troy Jones (201-92, college: Tex.A&M-Kingsv.) did not help to save the game for Hidd. Hussain Lulu added 9 points, 5 rebounds and 6 assists for lost side. Hidd's coach gave up on the game allowing to play eleven players seeing no chance for a win. Al-Ittihad moved-up to seventh place. Hidd lost fifth consecutive game. Newly promoted team keeps the eleventh position with 18 games lost. They share it with Isa Town. Al-Ittihad will meet higher ranked Al-Nweidrat (#4) in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Hidd will play against Al-Muharraq (#3) in Al Muharraq and hope to secure a win.
