Regular Season Round 12: Olympiacos - Panathinaikos 102-29

Undefeated leader Olympiacos delivered the twelfth consecutive victory. This time they crushed bottom-ranked Panathinaikos (0-12) 102-29 in Pireus. The game without a history. Olympiacos led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated on the defensive end, holding Panathinaikos to just 5 points in fourth quarter and to 11 points in second half. Olympiacos dominated down low during the game scoring 46 of its points in the paint compared to Panathinaikos' 18 and made 17-of-21 charity shots (81.0 percent) during the game. Olympiacos forced 39 Panathinaikos turnovers. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 33 assists comparing to just 4 passes made by Panathinaikos' players. It was a good game for the former international swingman Olga Chatzinikolaou (181-81) who led her team to a victory with 19 points, 8 rebounds, 5 assists and 5 steals (perfect from the field making all eight shots !!!). The former international forward Evina Stamati (181-84) contributed with 25 points for the winners. Five Olympiacos players scored in double figures. Swingman Katerina Tsineke (178-99) replied with 17 points and 5 rebounds and power forward Chinasa-Cynthia Ezedja (188-0) added 6 points and 10 rebounds in the effort for Panathinaikos. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Olympiacos (12-0) have an impressive 12-game winning streak. Defending champion maintains first position with a perfect record of 12 victories in a row. Panathinaikos at the other side still closes the standings with 12 games lost. Olympiacos will play against Niki Lefkadas (#6) on the road in the next round where they are favorite. Panathinaikos will play against Olympiacos Volou (#11) and hopes to get finally their first victory.
