Regular Season Round 21: Hokkaido L. - Toshiba BT 78-75

A very interesting game took place in Saporro. It ended with only three-point defeat on the road of 4th placed Toshiba Thunders (19-11) to fifth ranked Hokkaido L. (17-13) 78-75 on Saturday evening. Hokkaido L. dominated down low during the game scoring 58 of its points in the paint compared to Toshiba Thunders' 38. It was a good game for Canadian-Italian power forward Marc Trasolini (206-90, college: Santa Clara) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 22 points and 14 rebounds. American center Daniel Miller (211-91, college: Georgia Tech) contributed with 7 points and 7 rebounds for the winners. American power forward Nick Fazekas (211-85, college: Nevada) answered with a double-double by scoring 35 points (!!!) and 16 rebounds and the former international swingman Naoto Tsuji (185-89) added 15 points and 4 assists in the effort for Toshiba Thunders. Both coaches tested many bench players in such tough game. The victory was the fifth consecutive win for Hokkaido L.. They maintain fifth place with 17-13 record. Toshiba Thunders at the other side dropped to the third position with 11 games lost. Hokkaido L.'s next round opponent will be Tochigi Brex (#6) on the road. Toshiba Thunders will play against the league's second-placed Chiba Jets and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
