Regular Season Round 17: Sokhumi - Cactus Tbilisi 102-105

Ninth-ranked Sokhumi (1-15) used its home court advantage to challenge sixth ranked Cactus Tbilisi (8-7). The visitors managed to secure only three-point victory 105-102. However their fans expected easier game. Sokhumi was tied at the half but could not keep up in last two quarters eventually losing the game. Cactus Tbilisi players were unselfish on offense dishing 22 assists. American players dominated the game. The best player for the winners was guard Chris Johnson (190-91, college: St.Catharine) who scored 36 points (!!!) and 8 rebounds. Center John Mitchell (206, college: Virginia Union) chipped in a double-double by scoring 15 points and 11 rebounds. Guard Bishop Daniels (190-92, college: Rutgers) produced 34 points (!!!) and 8 rebounds and guard Jordan Price (196-94, college: La Salle, agency: 3Eye) added 27 points and 5 rebounds respectively for the hosts. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Cactus Tbilisi maintains sixth place with 8-7 record. Sokhumi lost thirteenth consecutive game. They stay at the bottom position with 15 games lost. Cactus Tbilisi's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will face at home their local rival from Tbilisi Mgzavrebi.
