Regular Season Round 17: BM Slam Stal - PGE Turow 93-78

There was a surprise result in Ostrow Wlkp. where eleventh ranked BM Slam Stal (9-8) defeated higher ranked PGE Turow (11-7) 93-78 on Saturday. The game was mostly controlled by BM Slam Stal. PGE Turow was better in fourth quarter 24-22. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They outrebounded PGE Turow 37-21 including 24 on the defensive glass. It was a great shooting night for BM Slam Stal especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 52.9 percentage. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. American point guard Aaron Johnson (173-88, college: UAB, agency: Two Points) stepped up and scored 15 points and 9 assists for the winners and the former international center Adam Lapeta (217-87, agency: Alti Sport) chipped in 18 points, 7 rebounds and 4 blocks (on 6-of-7 shooting from the field). Five BM Slam Stal players scored in double figures. American guard Cameron Ayers (196-91, college: Bucknell) responded with 17 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists and the other American import center Brad Waldow (208-91, college: St.Mary's, CA) scored 23 points. Both coaches used bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. BM Slam Stal moved-up to eighth place, which they share with 3 other teams. Loser PGE Turow keeps the fifth position with seven games lost. BM Slam Stal will face Czarni (#15) in Slupsk in the next round and are hoping to win another game. PGE Turow will play on the road against GTK (#14) in Gliwice and hope to win that game.
